Hot Peas & Butta is about an era – a time when you would catch double features on 42nd street of Black Action Films and Shaw Brothers Kung Fu flicks, when the music defined a genre of film. The promotional materials not only told a story, but many were also quality pieces of art, coveted by collectors worldwide. Thats the approach we take.
Elroy Jenkins (Lance Pilgrim) is the creative director behind Hot Peas & Butta. Pulling inspiration and imagery from exploitation film posters, lobby cards, VHS covers, as well as vintage magazines and comics, Jenkins studies and combines these elements to create a distinct look that is synonymous with Hot Peas & Butta.
The Art of Hot Peas & Butta has been shown in exhibitions worldwide, from NYC to the Netherlands. In 2011, Hot Peas & Butta expanded it’s reach with a showing at New York Comic Con, opening up a number of new opportunities and giving birth to the Hot Peas & Butta Comic.
